Recon Drilling specializes in Deep Directional Drilling using DHM (Down Hole Motor) and wedging methods.

Deep Directional Drilling is used to:

    • Control deviation so the target is achieved
    • Intersect targets below inaccessible locations
    • Alter the course of a drill hole to intersect the target
    • Allow multiple target intersections by drilling branch holes off the mother hole

The Recon Drilling team has completed a number of DDD programs for senior mining operating companies. Such programs involve planning and drilling multiple branch holes which often take months to complete and resulted in significant savings compared to conventional DD. Once a deep directional drill program is carefully planned, the need for wedges is significantly reduced. The Company uses specialized software to plan and navigate DDD holes.

The Company has also completed a number of Paste Fill and Ore Pass construction programs using DDD methods.
